Yoga for Musicians
There are numerous ways in which regular yoga practice can provide physical and mental benefits for musicians. It helps balance the physical body by enhancing strength, flexibility, and coordination. Moreover, it relieves stress and anxiety while fostering improved focus of the mind.
Yoga aids in establishing a deeper connection with oneself and creates a secure space where you and your creativity can flourish. In my Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga classes, you will receive expertised guidance through customized asana sequences designed to cater to the specific needs of musicians.
SYLVIA HURTTIA
- CERTIFIED YOGA TEACHER -
(200h YTT, Yoga Alliance)
I began practicing yoga in 2015 and quickly began noticing the numerous benefits it offers me both as an individual and as a musician.
In 2019, I completed my yoga teacher training at the Power of Now Oasis in Bali, under the guidance of my primary instructor, Myron Milton DMello, who is a graduate of the world's oldest yoga institute, the Yoga Institute in Mumbai.
I earned my certification as a Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga teacher (200h YTT, Yoga Alliance). During my training, I also gained insights into the fundamentals of Ayurveda, pregnancy yoga, and agro yoga. I completed the final exam covering yoga philosophy, the history of yoga, yoga anatomy, yoga techniques and the yoga terms in Sanskrit with highest honor.
Since the summer of 2020, I have been consistently teaching yoga. I maintain my own yoga practice in Vienna and have been organizing the Retreat for Musicians
(www.retreatformusicians.com) at Podsreda Castle in Slovenia since 2020.
My yoga classes encompass not only asana practice but also pranayama and meditation sessions, as well as an introduction to yoga philosophy and chakras.
Beyond yoga, I am a professional musician with a Master's degree in violin (M.M. violin). Given my lifelong involvement in the music scene, I possess deep insights into the physical and mental challenges that musicians encounter throughout their careers.
I am deeply intrigued by the fusion of music and yoga, two central pillars in my life. My aspiration is to assist fellow musicians in discovering a more balanced and healthier approach to their musical pursuits through the practice of yoga.
